Robert Lewis Dear, Jr. (born April 16, 1958〔) is the suspected perpetrator of the 2015 Colorado Springs shooting.

His first marriage lasted from 1979 until 1985 and Dear had two children with his first wife. He then married and had a child with Barbara Mescher, the daughter of former State Senator Bill Mescher. The couple divorced in 1993. Dear married his third wife in the 1990s and the couple had one child together.
